We are aware of our responsibilities towards the environment and society for a sustainable future of the world that we inherited from previous generations to pass on to the next generations. With this awareness, we are integrating the principles of environmental, social, and economic sustainable development into our business models in line with our policy of “protecting the world we live in and the environment we work in, and using our resources in the most efficient way possible.”

We are working decisively to minimize the negative environmental impacts arising from our activities, measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, optimize resource use, and make the circular economy a part of our business processes. With these efforts, we aim to increase our contributions to the national economy and leave a green mark on the future of our world.

With our commitment to sustainable development, we are continuing our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint by increasing the use of renewable energy sources, and making improvements in waste management and energy efficiency. At the same time, through our R&D projects, we are taking pioneering steps in industrial innovation and technology by developing innovative solutions with environmentally friendly, recyclable materials. To further reinforce the importance we place on our employees’ personal and professional development, we are expanding our training programs and investing in our talent management processes.

In the coming years, we are steadfastly continuing to achieve our goals of minimizing environmental impacts and increasing social benefit.

The 2023 Sustainability Report is a concrete reflection of our commitment. With this second Sustainability Report we have published, we are pleased to present the social, economic, and environmental impacts resulting from our activities, and the commitments, implementations, goals, and performance results related to these impacts in a clear and honest manner.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2021

Since its establishment, Tekkan Plastik has been steadily growing in the plastic industry. With a vision open to development, it continues to make investments and plans to maintain its growth. Changes in climate, the rapid depletion of natural resources, and the reality that we need to leave a more livable world for future generations have become apparent.

In line with our policy of “protecting the environment we work in and using all our resources in the most efficient way,” we operate with a focus on “Sustainable Development” in all our processes. Within the framework of our sustainability policy, we address sustainable future strategies based on environmental, social, and corporate governance, looking at business models and processes with a holistic approach.

We are working to minimize our environmental impacts. In this context, our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System efforts have been successfully completed, and our environmental certificate has been included in our organization. Efforts have been made and will continue to ensure the efficient use of our energy resources.

Our company, which has made a habit of signing firsts, has distinguished itself by winning the Arçelik Best Sub-Industry Award in 2015 for the second time and winning it alone this year. By winning 1 silver and 5 gold awards from this evaluation held for 9 years, we have also confirmed our success in the eyes of our largest customer. We were awarded the 2016 Innovation and Innovative Project Special Award. We are aware that our dedicated and skilled employees are one of the most important factors behind this achievement.

We support our employees with training to enhance their development and ensure more efficient work in processes. In 2021, the average training duration per employee was 147 minutes/month. The total duration of external training was 1064 hours. We prioritize occupational health and safety and provide training to our employees on this subject. In both of our companies, Occupational Safety Specialists conduct field inspections and take precautions against potential risks.

We believe that companies should promote the principle of “volunteering” for sustainable social development in order to support societal progress. In this context, we provide monthly educational scholarships to students in need.

The purpose of preparing this report is to transparently convey to our stakeholders the processes we manage with sustainability principles and the steps we have taken in this area while achieving our business goals.
